Repairs to North Inlet Jetty: Repairs to the North Inlet Jetty will begin April 2024 as a result of a failed section of bulkhead/revetment along the interior north shoreline of the Indian River Inlet. These repairs are for waterway navigational purposes. This activity will have an impact on visitors at the north campground. There will be equipment stationed on park property nearby which could cause disruption. A portion of the sidewalk along the jetty will be closed for pedestrian access. Pedestrian walkway access along the Inlet will be rerouted through the North inlet parking area. Entrance to the north campground will be moved west of the existing entrance. Please follow signage upon entering the park.
Dredging of White Creek Canal: Dredging of the White Creek Canal will resume December 2023. This activity will have an impact on reservations placed at Assawoman Canal House. There will be some equipment on park property nearby which could cause disruption. There will be noise mitigation measures put in place. The project is expected to conclude April 2024.

Overview

Description

Welcome to Delaware Seashore State Park, one of the state's most popular destinations. The park offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and Rehoboth and Indian River Bays to the west. Set up camp beside the iconic Indian River Inlet Bridge, only a short walk from the beach. Grab a delicious bite to eat with an amazing view at our 2 on-site restaurants: Hammerheads and The Big Chill Beach Club. The Indian River Marina is a full-service marina offering charter boat experiences and excellent fishing opportunities.

This park also has the Assawoman Canal house that is located in the town of Ocean View on the point of Assawoman Canal and Whites Creek near the Indian River Bay available for reservations.

During your stay, be sure to visit the Indian River Life-Saving Station, a historic station built in 1876 for use by the United States Lifesaving Service to respond to the alarming number of shipwrecks along the coast. Today, the Life-Saving Station has been restored to its 1905 appearance, doubles as the park's visitor center, and offers tours and year-round programming

The Park has campgrounds on the north and south side of the Inlet. The north inlet campground has 88 full hook-up RV campsites. The south inlet campground has 151 full hook up sites, 86 campsites without hook-ups; and 33 tent only camping sites. With excellent fishing spots, pristine beaches, and more, Delaware Seashore is a perfect destination for a seaside getaway.
