Nestled in the Piedmont’s Red Clay Valley, visitors to Auburn Valley State Park will discover the history of the Marshall Family, Yorklyn’s rich industrial history, and revitalization of this site. Auburn Valley State Park features new hiking and paved biking trails, the historic Marshall Mansion completed in 1897, the Marshall Steam Museum, the Auburn Valley 1/8-scale railroad, and much more.

A timeless 1897 Victorian Queen Anne estate perfect for hosting an open-air formal affair or business function. Nestled in historic Yorklyn, Delaware and just a minute from Pennsylvania, the former Thomas Marshall estate is a unique location for events ranging from weddings and rehearsal dinners to small business meetings.

The Marshall Steam Museum - The Marshall Steam Museum houses the largest collection of operating steam cars in the world. The museum contains historic Stanley Steamers, and gives guests the opportunity to experience life at the dawn of the automotive age first-hand. The museum is open to the public on select dates and for private tours by appointment.

From Wilmington: Take Rte. 48 (Lancaster Pike) or Rte. 41 (Newport Gap Pike) to Hockessin. At the main traffic light in Hockessin, turn right on Yorklyn Rd. and go about 2 miles until you reach the bridge across Red Clay Creek. Follow the brown "Auburn Heights Preserve" sign to make a sharp left onto Creek Road as soon as you cross the bridge. Auburn Heights is 1/4 mile ahead. Parking for events is in the field on the right.

From Pennsylvania: Take Rte. 41 south to the second traffic light in Hockessin, Delaware. Turn left onto Yorklyn Rd. and go about 2 miles until you reach the bridge across Red Clay Creek. Follow the brown "Auburn Heights Preserve" sign to make a sharp left onto Creek Road as soon as you cross the bridge. Auburn Heights is 1/4 mile ahead. Parking for events is in the field on the right.
